Meeting Sara Hashem and having zero chill
I met Sara Hashem last Saturday!
Meeting my favorite authors never gets old, and I also seem to never get any better at it. I am the same fangirl I was at 13, and I reacted to Sara Hashem the same way middle school me would react to a One Direction meet-and-greet.
That is to say, I had no chill and kept repeating how much I love her writing and her characters and everything about her. Luckily, she was really nice about it, thanking me and even telling me that she didn’t expect certain parts of the book to cause such emotional turmoil amongst her readers.
I also met another fan in line and we got to yap about our visceral reactions to everything Sara put us through in the second book. Getting to meet people who are equally insane about the fandoms that I am obsessed with is another huge highlight of in-person events for me!
The Jasad Heir and The Jasad Crown are two of my favorite enemies to lovers books ever! They feature the level of angst, yearning, and tension that keeps me on the edge of my seat, set in an Egyptian inspired world where everyone is keeping life-or-death level secrets.
Just to prove my point, here are two excerpts from my review of the second book from months ago:
"I finished reading The Jasad Crown by Sara Hashem approximately two hours ago, and I’m shaken to my core."
"I will never emotionally recover from this book."
